I'm Diego.
Yes, from San Diego. I’m a creative strategist and graphic designer with a special place in my heart for brand identity and apparel design. My childhood was filled with making things—everything from hand-drawn birthday cards to surf photography, tech deck ramps made out of cardboard, and skate videos filmed with friends during the rise of iMovie.

This love for creating never waned. When I entered university, I quickly realized the science degree I was pursuing wasn’t for me. That’s when I discovered marketing. I took on a couple of creative internships, largely crafting small digital and print event collateral. After lots of back and forth—and rounds of edits with my patient supervisors—I realized that while I wasn’t very good at graphic design, I sure enjoyed it.

I wrapped up my marketing degree and, within 10 days, was on a plane to Madrid, Spain, where I had previously spent a semester abroad. I wanted to strengthen my Spanish language skills, step outside my comfort zone, travel, and immerse myself in another culture.
I spent year and a half in Madrid, teaching English to elementary-aged children in the midst of COVID. A worldwide pandemic and a strict 60-day quarantine weren’t exactly what I had in mind when I moved to the Spanish capital, but I embraced the experience. So much so that I decided to extend my stay and enroll in an intensive graphic design course at a Spanish design school.
Outside of class, I became a student of design in everyday life. I drew inspiration from print ads on the metro, building facades, the clothes people wore, restaurant menus—anything and everything around me.

It’s a habit I continue to practice daily. That, combined with my hodgepodge of life experiences, has equipped me to do what I do today: help businesses build dynamic and disruptive brands in an increasingly competitive attention economy.
